Fall Days Again

I can't believe it's fall already, but it must be because the pumpkin patch has opened. We took Jack to visit Osborn Farms this morning. He had fun riding the tractor, playing with the pumpkins, and getting dirty.

I found a neat old fashioned desk at the craft fair, which is something I've wanted for a long time, so I bought it and put it in the living room. I used the pumpkins I got to decorate the front porch. I even added "Welcome" to one of the pumpkins in vinyl. I'm not sure how well you can see it in the pictures as the sun was in an awkward spot at the time I tried.  Finished decorating up the house with fall things too...

And, one more picture, just because it's a cute one.  Jack "helping" daddy at his desk. Jack has been very helpful lately. It's cute, but also frustrating at times. Yesterday, after watching me sweep and mop the floor, he tried to "help" by pushing the dustpan around the floor, and then taking all the Kleenex out of the box and using them to wipe the floor :).

Weekend Scenes

The neighborhood committee hosted a car (tractor, bike) show this weekend in the cul de sac in front of our house. The kids area and food stand were in our driveway, so we ended up being very involved with this event. There was a great kids section with hotwheels, tricycles, etc...Jack had such a great time! There were so many things to take rides on. Mike is determined that we will have to get Jack his own John Deere Hotwheel someday soon.

Jack is all ready for football season with his new jersey...I also cut his hair on Saturday. It turned out a bit short in the front, but I cut it in the bathtub, so as it dried it got shorter. Daddy is working on getting him to watch and like football! He was happy to lounge in his chair on Sunday afternoon.

Busy Busy...

We've spent what seems like the entire fall picking and cooking with fruits and vegetables. I have like 6 apple pies in the freezer at this point, jars of apple cider, applesauce, sliced apples, and 3 kinds of apple jam. Then, we have pickled green beans, carrots, and cucumbers, made tomato sauce, and put corn, green beans and more in the freezer as well. Here's a picture just of what we made today....it looked like so much more when piled up on the counter as fresh produce, but 8 half pint jars of apple cinnamon jam, 5 pints of tomato sauce and 6 pints of pickled carrots. Our freezers are full, our basement shelves are full....We still have to do a whole bunch more apples somehow though.

Saw the flowers and vase on Pinterest and made this little craft project for a coworker's birthday...It only took about half an hour, but it's a fun idea for a teacher. I still have to figure out my designs for the next card challenge too...
