Anyway, we had a great Christmas season, even if I am behind on sharing the pictures. Marie and Tom, and the Mandell family all came for Christmas. We had a great time iceskating, looking at lights, playing games, visiting Seattle, and more...
And, it snowed for Christmas! According to the news it was the first snow for Christmas since like 2003, so that was fun. Alyssa built a great snowman, with lots of help from everyone, and we all played in the snow on Christmas morning. It was almost as exciting as presents!
I should back up and say, we took the whole family to see a Cirque Holiday show and to Dim Sum on Christmas Eve in Seattle as our main Christmas present for everyone! It was a great time, and a fun show. It started snowing just as we were heading home, so the drive was a bit slow, but the timing wasn't bad!
On Christmas, we had fun with presents and fixing lots of goodies. I spent lots of time in the kitchen to prepare!
Opening up presents, makes Aspen tired...She decided to take a nap right int he middle of the festivities, never mind the crepe paper being strung all over her from the surprise balls that grandma brought...
Peg and Carl came for dinner, so we had a table full. I made a ham and a turkey, plus all the sides and desserts, so we had plenty of leftovers too!
Oh and then of course, there was the mandatory two or three days of everyone helping Jackson put his Christmas Lego sets together...
Did you notice all the buffalo plaid? It sure makes for festive pictures, but in late January I'm still finding little bits of red and black fuzz hiding in the corners of my household. The girls' new Christmas pajamas shed like crazy. It was quite the joke...we were vacuuming a lot, but you could still tell wherever they'd walked, or sat, or gotten within 500 yards of...
Right after that, it was New Years, followed in quick succession by back to school! It was 10 days of company, but it felt like it went by in a hurry! And, January continues to move by rapidly. I'm starting to look toward planning Jack's 7th birthday (YIKES) and our spring and summer vacations already! There's never a shortage of things to do, but we're having fun over here!
SNOW! You may need to set a room aside for all those Lego projects. Looks like a very merry Christmas was had by all.
